Coach Walker started his pole vaulting career back in 1979 at Troy High School in Orange County of Southern California, having the privilege of being coached by Olympic medalist, Ron Morris, and former UCLA vaulter Greg Stull during his time at Troy HS.
After high school, Wayde vaulted at Fullerton College, at which time was still being coached by his friend Greg Stull and Ron Morris at an off site facility. An injury prevented Wayde from vaulting beyond his freshman year in college, he began coaching at Troy High School for the next 4 years.
Wayde now helps as a volunteer pole vault with Coach Andy at Castle View High School and enjoys vaulting himself for fun, trying to re-kindle the past. Wayde brings years of training, vaulting, and coaching at a high school and collegiate level to Drift Motion Pole Vault club.
